4-H Camp at Camp Wooten

Camp Wooten

Puget Sound Energy sponsored BMW’s participation in 4-H Camp at Camp Wooten in the Blue Mountains near Pomeroy, WA. The theme was Live Like A Raptor. Campers learned what a raptor is and then played two games that helped them understand the challenges raptors face during migration and when hunters use lead ammunition. Our new stickers bring home the message: Hunt Lead Free

Three Young Red-tailed Hawks Released

RTHA fledge released

The hack box door was opened and three hawks had all “fledged” by the end of the day. Food is being placed on two platforms near the box until the hawks have perfected their hunting skills and are able to catch their own food. This method of raising young raptors mimics the care they would have received from their parents.
