A Season to be Thankful
All of us at Blue Mountain Wildlife are very grateful to our many supporters who have generously contributed their time, talents and finances to support our work. Although our patients don’t appreciate your efforts, we are very thankful for you.

The week started with two releases!
The Anna’s Hummingbird was released in Roger and Ginger Shoemake’s yard where there are four other hummingbirds visiting their feeder. Roger captured the moment! You have to look closely. The hummingbird is just leaving the plastic tub.

Barn Owl 16-856
Samantha picked up an injured Barn Owl in Weston, OR on her way to work Monday morning. The owl had been found Sunday night. Her fractured humerus could have been repaired, but the shoulder was so badly damaged that she would never be able to fly normally. …

Lots of releases, plus a kestrel, 3 owls and a Hummingbird in November!
This week brought a Kestrel with fractured metacarpals (the bones in his wingtip).
Next came a Long-eared Owl with a compound fracture in its right humerus - the injury was old and not repairable.
