The Week that Was...

It was a week filled with long days and short nights. There were 19 admissions, 13 raptors and 6 non-raptors. They ranged in size from a tiny adult House Wren and hatchling Killdeer to a starving Bald Eagle.

Its Hot

Summer won't officially be here for a few more days, but it's already hot. We have the over-head sprinklers hooked up to cool off the outside birds. These two young eagles, a bald on the left and a golden on the right, are contemplating a dip in their bath pan.

Thank You Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife

WDFW has awarded Blue Mountain Wildlife a $21,000 grant for the 2019 -2021 Biennium. Grant funds will be used to purchase raptor food, lead test kits and raptor medications.  We are very appreciative of the generous financial support from WDFW.

Darryl and Darrel - Oops!


After 17 years, Turkey Vultures Darrel and Darryl each laid an egg! We had recently noticed the two were uncharacteristically grumpy with each other. Now we know why! I guess we should have named them Darlene and Darleen.

The New Cages are in Constant Use
