Good Grief More Babies!
Two fledgling Barn Owls were removed from the duct work in a house on Wednesday. One of the owls had fallen about 10 feet down and couldn't get out. The home owner needed the services of a contracter to remove the owls, owl pellets and surplus prey items from the ducts - a smelly job!

Blue Mountain Wildlife has been awarded a $10,000 grant from The Kinsman Foundation to be used for 2015 operating expenses. We are very appreciative of The Kinsman Foundation's generous support of wildlife rehabilitation throughout Oregon.

Thank you to everyone who helped make BMW's annual Open House celebration a rousing success. Special thanks to falconers Jim Nelson and Mark Hurd, the awesome musicians, and all who donated goodies to share. Thank you also to volunteers Diana Dillenburg, June Whitten, Marilyn Cripe and John and Ruth Collins for making the day go smoothly, even after gale force winds kicked up and the large canopy collapsed!

A First and a Second
The first admission this past week was a female Anna's Hummingbird transported from Hermiston to Pendleton on the Tribal Bus. It is large by hummingbird standards, weighing 7 grams (1/4 of an ounce). She is thought to have hit a window. There are no obvious fractures. …
