I’m taking my first vacation since 2001. BMW is in great hands with Tricia, Samantha, Winnie and Jordan in the clinic and amazing volunteers all over eastern Oregon and eastern Washington. See you next week! Lynn

We enjoyed a slow week at BMW, in part because Tricia installed an air conditioner in the cage room of the clinic. Temperatures were in the high 90’s most of the week. The AC unit kept the inside temperature below 80! Today, Sunday, it is a balmy 82 degrees outside. …

There were six new admissions this past week, all trauma filled cases. A Great Horned Owl was electrocuted. The damage to its left wing was extensive and non-repairable.

The Week in Review
The Pendleton center has been a busy place even though we are not able to admit birds from Washington. Fortunately, between Samantha, Tricia and intern Jordan, we have lots of help. “The Board,” above shows 6 Robins, 2 Cliff Swallows, a Barn Swallow, a Scrub Jay, 5 House Finches and a Black-billed Magpie, in addition to an American Red Squirrel. …
