We Need Your Help: 229 Baby Owls and Counting!!!!
Boxes of baby Barn Owls are arriving daily at the Tri-Cities Center...

Owlets range in size from hatchlings...

To those nearly grown...

Occasionally they are injured...

There have been so many baby owls in such a short period of time, that for the first time in 13 years, we have filled up all the nest boxes and have added six more and still have owls waiting for a new home. Thankfully, Home Depot is generously discounting materials, precutting the lumber for more boxes, and some of their employees are helping with construction.

No matter the size or condition of the baby owls, they are all hungry!!!

The little guys eat less than one mouse a day…

The bigger guys can eat up to 10 mice a day…

We Need Your Help
As a result of our mild winter, there is a huge rodent population. Barn Owls have responded by nesting early. One of their favorite places to nest are haystacks. For some reason, hay companies are selling their hay earlier this year. The result is a huge number of homeless baby owls.
We need your help to feed the hungry owls...

Proper diet is a critical component of raising healthy raptors. That is why we feed mice to the owls. Each mouse costs $0.65. The first two weeks a young Barn Owl eats an average of one mouse per day. By the time it is four weeks old, it can eat up to ten mice/day until it fledges at two months of age when consumption drops. Each owl will consume approximately 500 mice before reaching independence.
Can you help us feed the hungry owls? A gift of any amount will be appreciated. Thirty dollars will feed a Barn Owl for one week. Thank you in advance for your generous response.
