The Scavenger Pen is Functional Again!!!
Seven months after it collapsed under a heavy snow load, the Scavenger Pen is back in service. Thank you to everyone who helped with the deconstruction of the damaged pen and the reconstruction of the new pen. Special thanks to Burt, Carl, Denise, Greg, Kelly, Ken & Kirsti for getting the new shade cloth in place and fastened down. The pen is 30’ wide and 44’ long. It was a big piece of shade cloth!
Next Step Students Visit
Although we did take a minute for a group photo, the students practiced good social distancing as they viewed BMW’s education birds in the new Education Building. It was the first on-site program on nearly two years.
Great Horned Owl 21-638 Released
Six weeks ago the owl was found hanging in a barbed-wire fence. There was a significant amount of tissue damage to the left wing, but all the sutures held and the wing healed beautifully.
