Tricia was on the road this week releasing birds. She released two Barn Swallows at McNary Dam…
A Cliff Swallow at Wallula Junction…
And 4 House Finches at a beautiful cemetery in La Grande…
Then, on Friday, we opened the door of a hack box and released three Swainson’s Hawks…

Lots of Releases This Week
Five young American Robins and one Swainson’s Hawk were released this past week. The Robins were released in Milton-Freewater, OR and Pasco, WA where they had come from. The hawk was released from a hack box at BMW. He has about one month to prepare for his trip to Argentina (where Swainson’s spend the winter).

We enjoyed temperatures in the 80’s this weekend, but the forecast calls for triple digits again in the coming week. We have sprinklers set up to keep the birds cool when it gets hot.
