Oh We’re Having A Heat Wave!!!!

The entire Pacific Northwest is in the middle of a heat wave. Everyone is trying to keep cool, including the birds. Normally, Great Horned Owl Sage is not one to spend much time in the water. The past couple of days (and probably the rest of the week) he thinks under a sprinkler is the perfect place to be.

The Week In Review - Lots More Babies!

Business picked up this past week. We now have more than 20 young robins. Most are uninjured so are color-coded to easily identify. The one pictured below has puncture wounds and fractures in its left shoulder from being caught by a cat. …

The Week in Review

We are about halfway through baby season. Admissions at the Pendleton center are up only slightly from last year. Barn Owl numbers are down at the Tri-Cities center at 75. I’m wondering if that is due, at least in part, to the challenges of shipping hay during a pandemic?
