The Week in Review

Of the eleven new admissions this past week, eight were raptors. Most had non repairable injuries. Red-tailed Hawk 21-078 appears to have been just stunned when hit by a car. He is ready to go back to Ontario for release!

21-078

Tiny Northern Saw-whet Owl 21-082 hit a window and then was grabbed by a cat. We could find no puncture wounds from the cat, but are giving a course of antibiotics in case we missed a wound. His left coracoid was dislocated when he hit the window. We are hoping immobilization of the wing and shoulder and cage rest will be all that is needed for recuperation. Intern Adrian captured this photo of the owl during morning treatments.
