Thank You Puget Sound Energy & Pacific Power
Blue Mountain Wildlife received notice this past week that Puget Sound Energy is making a $20,000 donation to be used for operating expenses and Pacific Power Foundation has awarded BMW a $3,500 grant to off-set the cost of the new x-ray system. We are very appreciative to both Puget Sound Energy and Pacific Power for their very generous support.
Swainson’s Hawk Release
Intern Samantha released a Swainson’s Hawk that was found near Heppner, OR in May with a shoulder injury. A Red-tailed Hawk circling above, paid no attention as the Swainson’s gained altitude.

Another Gunshot Bird
A Rock Dove (sometimes referred to as a pigeon) was found in a Kennewick neighborhood with an injured wing. An x-ray revealed an air rifle pellet caused the damage. No matter what value you place on a Rock Dove, it is illegal to discharge a firearm within city limits.
