Thank You to The Kinsman Foundation
BMW received a $12,000 grant from The Kinsman Foundation this past week. The Foundation has been a long-time supporter of BMW and wildlife rehabilitation. Grant funds will help pay for operating expenses at the center.
The Wind and Rain has Arrived
Volunteer Kelly didn’t let a little blustery weather deter her this weekend. She is volunteering at the Pendleton center on Sundays, helping with treatments, feeding and whatever else needs to be done. This Sunday she released a Barn Owl at the Tri-Cities center and a Great Horned Owl near Kennewick on her way home. Thank you Kelly!
Kelly provided clean bath water for a very sweet Canada Goose who was raised by a well-meaning person, but now is non-releasable because it has absolutely no fear of people.
Thank you also to the Marcoptle-Niebauer family. They transported an injured Sharp-shinned Hawk and Great Horned Owl from the Tri-Cities to the Pendleton Center. BMW is so fortunate to have such a dedicated network of volunteers who help throughout eastern Oregon and eastern Washington. It truly takes a village to run a wildlife rehabilitation center!
