Thank You for Investing in BMW’s Future!!!
We have raised $11,415 towards our goal of raising $15,000 that will be matched dollar for dollar by Tara, Michele and Dorothy for a study to develop a first-ever model projecting annual post-release population effects directly due to rehabilitation facilities. We need just $3,505 to meet our challenge. There is still time to contribute to this important study. Thank you for your investment in BMW and raptor rehabilitation.
Week in Review
It is interesting comparing BMW current admissions to those in the passed. Admissions at the end of February 2020 were just over half of those in February 2019. Admissions in March were down to a dribble, thanks to the Corona Virus pandemic. That trend seems to have reversed itself. By the end of May, admissions were essentially the same as in 2019. As a result, BMW volunteers are putting 100’s of miles on there vehicles responding to bird calls. Thank you BMW volunteers!
Great Horned Owl 20-155 is doing extremely well. His PCV has increased from 9 to 20. He appears to be beating the odds.
It was a great week for releases. Tara released a Golden Eagle and a Swainson’d Hawk in Baker County. Bill and Tiffany released a Red-tailed Hawk in Walla Walla and Winnie released a Cooper’s Hawk in Umatilla County. Enjoy teh video she took of that release…
