The Week in Review

Swainson’s Hawks and Osprey are fledging now. That means lots of phone calls regarding birds on the ground who must be injured because they will not fly away. We explain that the birds may be learning how to fly and the parents are still taking care of it.

Golden Eagle 20-444

This young eagle was obviously injured with swelling and compromised circulation in both feet and lower legs. We do not know the cause of the injuries.

Osprey 20-442

This poor Osprey had parasites attached to the conjunctiva in both eyes. We are trying to identify the parasite.
