Week in Review
Golden Eagle 21-778 continues to do well, although he still is unable to place his halux talon properly without the boots on his feet.
Sadly, we lost another Golden Eagle to lead poisoning this week and had to euthanize a Golden Eagle that was struck by a vehicle because his injuries were too extensive to repair.
This is always a challenging time of year when all the birds admitted are trauma cases. Hopefully the coming week will be a quiet one.
Red-tailed Hawk 21-795
Red-tailed Hawk 21-795 was found lying on his back on a sidewalk. He has head and neck injuries. Although the prognosis is not good, we will give him pain medication and anti-inflammatories for a few days to see if he improves.
Blue Mountain Wildlife is again participating in the Valley Giving Guide sponsored by Blue Mountain Community Foundation. The Valley Giving Guide is a year-end fundraising effort to bring donations and attention to nonprofits in our community. It’s an online donation page that will be available starting on November 30th (Giving Tuesday) thru the end of December 2021! We receive 100% of each online donation! All donations will count towards the Matching Funds that the foundation is raising for this event. Checks will be accepted…information on where to send them is in the FAQ page on the Valley Giving Guide. Thank You for your support!
Just for Fun
I put this photo in just for fun and as a reminder that there is always hope for a better day tomorrow… although the forecast is for rain. But, we need the rain!
