Nov 17 - Nov 23

Yes its windy, but no snow

After two weeks of below normal temperatures the snow is finally gone - I'm so glad we are not in Buffalo, NY!

Another Baby

Good grief, another downy Barn Owl arrived this week from Imbler (near La Grande). She has damaged the tip of her left wing. The circulation seems to be compromised. Hopefully it will respond to supportive care. In the mean time, she has a hearty appetite, eating 7 mice a day!

Volunteers Needed in La Grande

Can you help put birds on the tribal bus? The La Grande terminal is no longer staffed during the day which means birds can't be dropped off before the bus arrives. Someone needs to meet the bus. The bus arrives in La Grande just before 11:00 a.m. and just after 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Often people finding the birds live a long distance from La Grande making it hard to meet the morning bus and a long drive home in the dark in order to meet the evening bus. If you can help put birds on the bus please call (541-278-0215) or reply to this email. Thank you in advance for your help!
